What was leaked a few days ago on Google Play gift cards has just been confirmed today by the search giant.

Starting today RadioShack, Target and GameStop will offer Android enthusiasts Google Play gift cards that can be redeemed in the Android application store.

Although these gift cards can be used to purchase apps and games, or even virtual currency, keep in mind that Google does not allow users to redeem gift cards for Android app subscriptions, magazine subscriptions, or hardware and accessory purchases.

For the time being, customers can purchase $10 USD, $25 USD and $50 USD gift cards from any of the three major retailers mentioned earlier. Unfortunately, Google Play gift cards are only available in the United States.

It is also worth mentioning that Google plans to announce the global availability of these gift cards later this year, and that Walmart will also sell these cards beginning this month.
