Google’s main localization application, Google Maps has just received a minor update, which is meant to improve the battery performance.

The developers promise Latitude and Location History users improved battery performance while using these features, so they will be able to squeeze more juice from their batteries and, more importantly, for a bit longer.

Aside from this rather important update, Google Maps also received several or more bug fixes, but Google has yet to unveil any details regarding these addressed issues.

All in all, Google Maps will be automatically updated to the latest version, or it can be manually downloaded via Android Market.

The application is available as a free download in the Android Market, but usually comes pre-loaded on all Android devices. This one should be compatible with all devices regardless of which version of Android they run.
