The latest update makes the application slow and laggy

Android users who like travelling around the globe virtually with the Google Earth application will be happy to know that Google has just delivered a small update that is meant to fix an issue with Tegra 2 devices.

For unknown reasons, Google Earth would not open when launched from an NVIDIA Tegra 2 device; but with the latest 6.1.0.5671 update owners of Motorola XOOM, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and other Tegra 2 devices should not experience any more problems with the application.

Unfortunately, users who updated Google Earth reported that the application was slow and laggy and that the Search function was unusable on Tegra 2 devices. The “Clear Search Results” function did not work before this update and it’s still unusable after the update.

Google Earth is now available as a free download via Android Market and should be compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.
