Yesterday, Google officially announced the availability of its Nexus 4 smartphone on the market in Brazil, though not through its official Play Store, instead providing users with the possibility to grab it via Fast Shop and Ponto Frio.

The device is being sold in the country with 16GB of internal memory, and with a price tag of 1,699 Brazilian Reals (around $843) attached to it, SIM-free and unlocked.

While the availability of the latest Google phone out there in this country comes as good news, the info on its pricing doesn’t. As Android Police notes, users will need to pay an “unbelievable” premium over the US flavor of the phone.

What remains to be seen is whether Google will bring the smartphone to this country via its own online store as well, and what price tag the phone will feature if it does.
