Over the past few weeks, Android users out there have been plagued with a rather annoying issue on their devices, one that prevented them from updating applications, due to an error in the Play Store.

To be more precise, many users have complained that the store client would display a “Package File Is Invalid” error when trying to update their installed apps, and some have suggested that the 4.3.10 version of the Play store is to blame.

The issue was not consistent, and users could actually update apps quite often, but the problem still persisted, as Android Police notes.

However, a fix for it should arrive in the not too distant future, as Google has already confirmed that it is aware of the situation.

“We’ve received reports that some users are getting ‘Package File Invalid’ while trying to download or update apps. We’re currently investigating a permanent solution, and there are no workarounds at this time,” the company announced.
