The Globe and Mail Inc., the company behind the “Globe & Mail News” application for mobile devices has finally announced the software is now available on Android platform as well.

It took the developers quite a while to launch an Android version of its highly acclaimed news app. It appears that the company preferred to focus on the iOS and BlackBerry iterations of “Globe & Mail News.”

Fortunately, this has changed once the developers announced “Globe & Mail News” is out of beta and available for download via Android Market.

It comes with interesting features, such as Offline Reading, which allows users to select the content they want to read later on and this content will be downloaded on their smartphones.

The app also offers users the possibility to share any article or to customize their home screens by adding or removing content section as they see fit.

“Globe & Mail News” is now available as a free download in the Android Market and should be compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 and up.
