Galaxy S5, supposedly the next flagship Android-based smartphone from the South Korean mobile phone maker, has been rumored before to arrive on shelves in a variety of models, and more info on some of these device versions is now available.

According to a recent report from ET News, Samsung is planning on launching some of the Galaxy S5 flavors with LDS antenna technology.

Basically, this means that the antenna will be included in the rear plate of the smartphone, which is placed between the battery and the device’s internals, SamMobile explains.

Samsung was said before to be aiming at releasing the Galaxy S5 with both metal and plastic cases, and there’s the chance that the LDS antenna will be available inside the latter model.

However, no official confirmation on this has been provided as of now, and we’ll have to wait for a formal announcement to learn more on the matter.
