South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has been long rumored to plan the release of a premium smartphone that would sport a metal body, and some more details on the device appear to have emerged online this week.

The handset, previously spotted online under the name of Galaxy F, has been long rumored to be a larger, better spec’d flavor of Samsung Galaxy S5, but new reports on it suggest that it might actually land on shelves with a more compact body.

The mobile phone, now believed to be called Samsung Galaxy S5 Alpha when put up for sale, is said to feature a 4.7-inch touchscreen display and to be very thin. In fact, its body should measure only 6mm in thickness, info coming from Korea Herald suggests.

Despite its smaller form factor, the Galaxy S5 Alpha should still be capable of delivering appealing performance capabilities, courtesy of an Exynos 5 Octa processor (previously, the phone was said to include a Snapdragon 805 CPU).

Rumor has it that we might see the Galaxy S5 Alpha made official sometime in mid-August, yet no confirmation on it has emerged until now.

Hopefully, some more details on the matter will surface in the not too distant future, so stay tuned to learn the news.
