South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has just announced the release of a software update for the Galaxy S II smartphone, packing a number of two new features inside it.

The new software update will arrive on Galaxy S II devices in the near future, and should include a Big Home feature that will have icons on the phone increased by no less than 30 percent, SammyHub notes in a recent article.

At the same time, the new firmware update will bring along a System Update widget. Through the new firmware-over-the-air widget, users will be able to easily access software updates for their devices, and also to receive notifications on the availability of new software.

For the time being, however, no specific info on when the update roll-out begins has been unveiled, nor on how long it takes before all devices are updated.
