South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is getting ready for the official launch of its Galaxy S 4 smartphone on shelves around the world, and claims to have already registered impressive demand for it.

In fact, the company also notes that the demand for the smartphone has been so high that it had to delay its availability in some markets, including the United States.

“Due to overwhelming global demand of Galaxy S 4, the initial supply may be limited. We expect to fulfill inventory to meet demands in the coming weeks,” a Samsung representative said, AllThingsD reports.

Two US wireless carriers have already confirmed delays on Galaxy S 4’s availability, namely Sprint and T-Mobile, with a third still set to launch it on April 27, namely AT&T. Verizon will release it only in late May.

A report that emerged last week suggested that Samsung might indeed face stock issues with the device, but that it will manage to sell over 10 million units before the end of April.
