Samsung wants to show its commitment to the US smartphone market with a new premiere. The Korean handset maker announced its first-ever Super Bowl ad would feature the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy Note.

Although the company mentions that the Galaxy Note will be launched on the same date as the Super Bowl, customers will only be able to pre-order the smartphone starting February 5.

Earlier this week, Samsung and AT&T confirmed that the Galaxy Note would be available for purchase on February 19 for $299.99 (230 EUR) with a new two-year agreement.

Although Samsung has yet to reveal the contents of the commercial, the company did specify that it had appointed Bobby and Peter Farrelly, creators of “There's Something About Mary,” “Dumb and Dumber,” “Kingpin” and “Fever Pitch” comedy films, to shoot the ad.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Note ad will air during the 4th quarter of Super Bowl.
