14 DAY TRIAL // More handset vendors out there are expected to go for dust and waterproof designs with their upcoming flagship devices, including LG and Pantech, in addition to Samsung, which has already adopted the technology for the new Galaxy S5.
According to info coming from Korean media, all three South Korean vendors will launch waterproof devices later this year, including the Galaxy Note 4, LG G3, and Vega Iron 2.
Furthermore, the report claims that both LG and Pantech have developed their own waterproof technologies, and that they will pack these inside their upcoming smartphones.
However, as PhoneArena notes, Samsung will opt in for the same Liquid Silicon Moulding method used in Galaxy S5 with the upcoming large Galaxy Note 4, it seems.
LG G3 has been already announced a few times before to arrive on the market with said waterproof capabilities packed inside, and it appears that things have been almost confirmed.
Moreover, the device is said once again to be set for an official launch in May this year (on May 17, to be more precise), through it remains to be seen whether it will land on shelves the same month or in June.
One thing is certain, however, and that is the fact that the trend that Sony launched with its Xperia Z smartphone last year, when it announced it as being both dust and waterproof, is becoming increasingly popular among vendors. More of them might announce similar features for their devices soon.
