Before the end of this month, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is expected to unveil to the world the successor of its largest smartphone to date, Galaxy Note.

Dubbed Galaxy Note 2, the new device is rumored to pack a larger, 5.5-inch touchscreen display and better performance capabilities, courtesy of a faster application processor.

Apparently, the screen won’t be only larger, but it is also said to be thinner. A new rumor also confirms that the touch panel would be flexible.

Some of the previous rumors on the matter suggested that Galaxy Note 2 would indeed come to shelves with a flexible screen, and Korea IT Times seems convinced that this will indeed happen.

The new device is expected to become official as soon as August 29th, during an event set for this year’s IFA fair in Berlin. A Samsung official has already confirmed this.
