BlackBerry fans that use Foursquare application are probably happy that RIM delivered an important update several days ago.

Foursquare 5.0 added some important changes such as an improved friends tab that allows users to quickly see what’s going on or an updated explore screen to help discovering important locations.

Other GPS improvements and tweaks will also be included in future versions, developers promise. Last but not least, the application also received small visually improvements as well.

Today, RIM announced that a new update for Foursquare was made available for download. However, it appears that this is only a small software update that includes a few bug fixes as well as the addition of plug-in support for Foursquare on Blackberry.

Foursquare 5.0.1 is now available as a free download via BlackBerry App World and it should be fully compatible with all devices running BlackBerry 4.5.0 OS or higher.
