Soon, owners of Windows Phone 8.1 devices out there will be able to enjoy the capabilities of a Fitbit application on their handsets, the company has officially confirmed.

Fitbit has taken to its community forums to unveil the fact that it is already working on this application, which should allow the owners of its popular fitness smartbands to pair them with devices running under the new Windows Phone 8.1 operating system.

"Fitbit is developing an application for Windows Phone 8.1. Thank you for all your feedback and support," the company says on its forums.

Apparently, users have been long asking for the release of an application for Microsoft’s mobile operating system, yet the company has decided to respond only today.

Unfortunately, the only thing that has been unveiled on the matter so far is the fact that the application is coming, with no specific details available on its features and capabilities available at the moment, as WPCentral points out.

Undoubtedly, the company will provide some additional info on the application as the development progresses, though there’s no telling when the app will arrive on Windows Phone.

Hopefully, more on this will emerge in the not-too-distant future, so stay tuned to learn more on what Fitbit for Windows Phone 8.1 might have to offer.
