Tomorrow is reportedly a big day for Verizon Wireless, as the operator will unveil a new handset running under Google's Android Gingerbread operating system, namely the HTC Rezound.

Previously spotted into the wild as the HTC Vigor, the new device can be admired in the first press photo that made an appearance into the wild with it, courtesy of Pocketnow.

The phone should make its debut during an event Verizon will hold in New York City, and is expected to become available for purchase in the near future, as yet another LTE-capable smartphone on Verizon's offering.

Packing a dual-core 1.5GHz application processor inside, the new device is also expected to feature a large 720p HD touchscreen display, as well as a high-quality camera on the back.

One thing that is certain is that the Rezound is said to be at least as powerful as the Galaxy Nexus, which spells an upgrade to the newer Ice Cream Sandwich OS flavor.
