Final Fantasy fans rejoice, as Square Enix plans to launch another game in the popular series, which will be called Final Fantasy Agito.

Siliconera reports that Japanese newspaper Nikkei claims that Final Fantasy Agito will be launched on both Android and iOS platforms sometime in April.

The bad news is that the game will only be released in Japan, though a Western version may be available at a later date. It is worth mentioning that Square Enix has already filed trademarks in the West for Final Fantasy Agito, so it should arrive pretty soon.

According to the cited source, Final Fantasy Agito will be available for free, but players will be charged for various weapons and other items that may help them during battles via microtransactions.

Apparently, the game was created by Square Enix and a third-party development studio, which hasn’t been named in the report. More details on availability of the game are likely to emerge in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more updates.

Those unfamiliar with the new title should know that the game is set in the universe of Final Fantasy Type-0. Rumor has it that Final Fantasy Agito may be a prequel and companion application to the original game.
