With just one day left until the official reveal of the Facebook Phone and the company’s specially tailored Android UI, the Windows Phone client has just gotten a major update.

Although Facebook did not offer in-depth details on all the changes included in this update, it has confirmed it added support for multiple resolutions and tweaks meant to improve the application’s performance.

In addition, the latest update offers support for multiple tile sizes. Several bug fixes have been included as well, but they have yet to be detailed.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of negative ratings and comments on Windows Phone Store claiming that the application hasn’t been improved enough.

Facebook 4.2.0.0 is now available as a free download via Windows Phone Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 7.5 and up. Check it out here.
