It will display the profile picture of users and will stay visible at all times

Facebook is getting ready for the rollout of new features for the owners of Android-based devices, and some of them are already being tested, it seems.

According to TNW, Facebook is currently pushing a new persistent notification bar to a small group of testers out there, though there’s no telling on whether it will also make it publicly available in the end.

The new notifications will remain visible even if there’s nothing new to inform people on, and they will also show the user’s profile picture, it seems.

Furthermore, users are also said to be provided with the possibility to turn the new feature off through tapping on the “i” icon on the right side of the notification bar. This will take them to the settings menu, and the option to toggle it on or off will be available there.

Facebook was said before to be working on a new notification bar for its Android application, and a screenshot with it emerged last year, but the new design appears to be much more appealing than that one.

However, it remains to be seen when exactly the feature will start rolling out to more users out there, and whether it will look the same as it does now or other changes will be added to it.
