Facebook has recently announced that it has made some major changes to its Home UI for Android devices, which are meant to improve users' overall experience.

Well, it looks like the company has updated its Facebook application as well, to reflect the changes made to Facebook Home and to better integrate the new features into its proprietary ecosystem.

Here is the official changelog that offers details on what’s new in Facebook 4.0 for Android:

- Search for hashtags or tap them in posts to see what other people are saying about a topic; - There are new permissions for this release.

Additionally, for those who use Facebook Home, here are the changes they will notice inside Facebook application:

- Swipe down to unlock; - View the time, weather and notifications on your lock screen; - Swipe to browse photos and posts on your lock screen; - Pick from new photo categories to customize your wallpaper.

You can now download Facebook for Android 4.0.0.25.3 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with most devices running Android 2.2 and up.
