Samsung is about to launch yet another budget-friendly Android smartphone in Asia, the Galaxy Pocket 2. The sequel to the entry-level Galaxy Pocket has been recently spotted in Vietnam, but we suspect that the handset maker will introduced the smartphone in other Asian countries as well.
The folks over at GSMArena have been tipped on the listing of the entry-level smartphone at Vietnamese online retailer Mainguyen, along with press photos and full specs.
According to the said retailer, the Galaxy Pocket 2 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box. However, the handset will be equipped with a 1GHz single-core processor and 512MB of RAM.
The smartphone will pack only 4GB of internal memory, but it will also come with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
Samsung Galaxy Pocket 2 sports a small 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution and features a sub-par 2-megapixel photo snapper on the back. There’s also a secondary VGA camera in the front for selfies and video calls.
Connectivity-wise, the Galaxy Pocket 2 offers dual-SIM capability, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS with A-GPS support. It’s also worth mentioning that the entry-level Android smartphone is powered by a 1200 mAh battery.
