The latest update provides some improvements for older devices

The amazingly popular WhatsApp instant messaging application has just received a new update that brings some minor improvements and various bug fixes.

Although version 2.9.4062 has yet to be pushed to Google Play, WhatsApp Messenger users who wish to be on the latest iteration can download the .apk file via Softpedia.

Keep in mind that this update does not come with any major improvements, though it does add some necessary bug fixes.

According to the official changelog, some layout enhancements for devices powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread have been added, along with miscellaneous bug fixes and translation improvements.

The new WhatsApp Messenger 2.9.4062 is now available as a free download via Softpedia and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
