Skype has just announced the release of a new version of their Android application, with better calling capabilities.

The new Skype 2.7 for Android not only brings along better calling quality, but also features a series of changes to the calling interface. In addition to enhancing the calling experience, the new app release also brings video calling capabilities on the Samsung Epic 4G Touch.

The new app release was made available as version 2.7.0.907, and can be downloaded from the Android Market. It was made available for all devices that run under Android 2.1 and up.

In addition to these enhancements, the new app release comes with a variety of fixes in tow, including the help button that is linked to the mobile-optimized support site now, or the fact that "Add Contacts" will now search for other Skype users and won’t continue to make local contact search.
