Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has made available for download an updated flavor of its Nokia NFC Writer application for Windows Phone 8 devices, namely version 1.0.0.49.

The new app release comes with improvements packed inside, yet specific details on what was changed haven’t been provided as of now.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the application was designed to provide Windows Phone 8 users with the possibility to easily read and write NFC tags.

“You can create NFC tags to launch applications, check-in to places, update social status, or even make phone calls or send text messages by simply waiving your phone over the programmed tag,” the company explains in the app’s description.

Available for download for free, the Nokia NFC Writer can be found on this page in the Windows Phone Store.
