One of the most popular Windows Phone applications, Facebook Messenger has just been updated with new features based on users’ feedback.

Most long-time users should notice important improvements, as Facebook has confirmed that it has made some under the hood enhancements that will improve the overall performance of Messenger.

Still, the most important new change included in this update is the ability to save photos. Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone users did not have the option to save photos in previous versions of the application, but with the latest iteration, this is possible and very easy to achieve.

Furthermore, Facebook has confirmed that all notifications are now more reliable, so users can be sure that they will never miss a message again. This improvement requires testing in order to be confirmed, so let us know if you still don’t receive all your notifications.

Last but not least, developers have confirmed that Facebook Messenger now uses less data, which makes it less costly. Some minor bug fixes may have been added as well, but no additional details have been provided yet.

You can now download Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone 3.1.0.0 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application is only compatible with devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
