An updated version of the Android Device Manager application is now available for download for the owners of devices running under Google’s mobile operating system, namely version 1.0.2.

One of the main changes in the new release is the addition of a new layer to the password protection, in an attempt to make it more secure than before.

According to the available release notes for the app, there is an “account password challenge at application start and when switching accounts” available, alongside various bug fixes and improvements.

Basically, one would need to enter the password before opening the application and when switching accounts. The software also allows users to locate a missing device, lock its screen, and then change the password needed to unlock it.

You can download Android Device Manager 1.0.2 from Softpedia today. It is compatible with all devices running under Android 2.3 or newer.
