Viber does not plan the release of a BB10 application

Several months ago, Viber CEO Talmon Marco officially confirmed plans to launch a Viber for BlackBerry 10 application as soon as OS 10.2 was here, but it appears that the company actually changed its mind.

In a recent post on Twitter, Viber said that it did not plan the release of a mobile client for BlackBerry 10 devices, without offering further explanation on the matter.

“Hi there! Unfortunately at this point, we do not intend to release a version for bb10. Sorry,” the company said in a tweet.

The announcement comes as a surprise, considering that Viber was previously understood to have already been working on the release of said app, as CrackBerry notes.

While no explanation for the recent change of plans has been provided, it might all be related to BlackBerry’s poor performance on the market over the past months. Hopefully, more on this will be unveiled soon, so stay tuned.
