Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has just slashed the price tag of DROID 3 a bit more, bringing it down to only $49.99 with the signing of a contract agreement.

Users interested in making a purchase can now head over to the wireless carrier’s website and take advantage of the lower cost the mobile phone features.

Just the other week, Verizon cut the price of DROID 3 to $99.99 on contract. The new slashing clearly suggests that the phone’s successor, the Motorola DROID 4, is just around the corner.

The new device was made official at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and should hit the market in the coming weeks. Verizon hasn’t confirmed an official release date until now, but signs that it is preparing for a near launch have emerged.
