There have been lots of rumors around the name of the next HTC flagship smartphone, but none has been confirmed by the Taiwanese handset maker.

Codenamed M8, the next high-end smartphone to be unveiled by HTC on March 25 is now known as the All New HTC One, but it was previously tagged as HTC One+ (Plus) or even HTC One Two.

Some insiders have also claimed that the device will be released as HTC One up, but it looks like all these rumors have proven to be inaccurate to some extent.

HTC may have taken into consideration all the names listed above, but dropped them one by one. That means that at some point, these rumors were true, but HTC decided to change the name of its flagship smartphone again.

However, in light of the information provided by Dutch website Simonlyradar, the upcoming device will be launched as HTC New One.

The new name is confirmed by the DLNA certificate that the smartphone received back in February 20, so there’s a high chance that this will be the final name of the device.

Even so, we should take the information with a grain of salt until March 25 when HTC is expected to take the wrap off its new top-tier Android smartphone. Stay tuned for more on this.
