Owners of Moto X devices in the United States can now download and install CyanogenMod 11 nightly builds, and these have become available for the T-Mobile and Verizon Developer Editions of the phone.

As Android Police notes, the T-Mobile Moto X (XT1053) is also the standard unlocked GSM edition of the handset, which means that the CM11 builds can be enjoyed on even more users out there.

Keep in mind that these are unofficial software releases for the smartphone, and that you will need to root the phone in order to install CyanogenMod on it.

Unfortunately, given the fact that the bootloader on the standard AT&T and Verizon versions of the device hasn’t been unlocked until now, the custom software cannot be installed on these devices as well.

Those interested in taking CM11 for a spin on their compatible Moto X smartphones should head over to the CyanogeMod website to download the builds.
