Owners of a Galaxy Nexus smartphone on the network of Verizon Wireless in the United States can now download and load a brand new custom ROM on their devices.
This is a preview build of the CyanogenMod 10 release, which is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and which should provide users with a series of new features over their previous OS version.
However, being only a preview build, this CM10 ROM for the device still includes various bugs that could affect the overall user experience.
However, Brint Kriebel, who made the build available for download, notes that hardware support is in place, and that most of the phone’s functions should work just fine.
He also notes that those users who would like to upgrade to this ROM coming from CM9 should perform a complete wipe of the device.
