Although most Galaxy Note II users are still stuck on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, Samsung has announced that only Galaxy S III and Galaxy S4 smartphones will receive the newest Android 4.3 version of the operating system.

According to Engadget, Samsung plans to start rolling out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to Galaxy S III and Galaxy S4 models in October.

The company did not offer more details on when exactly it would kick off the rollout, but we expect that more info will emerge in the following weeks.

It appears that Samsung will also add support for Galaxy Gear smartwatch to the Galaxy S4, along with the major Android 4.3 update. However, the handset maker did not confirm the same feature for Galaxy S III. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
