Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry has been rumored to plan the launch of an octa-core smartphone sometime next year, but it appears that we might see the device sooner than that.
According to a recent article on Pocket-lint, the handset could become official sometime in September this year, and it has also been confirmed to sport a 64-bit processor.
On top of that, BlackBerry is expected to bring OpenGL 3 to its BlackBerry 10 operating system, which should result in better graphics rendering, shading, and 3D objects on the platform.
The upcoming smartphone from BlackBerry is said to be powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8994 processor, though confirmation on this has yet to be provided.
In addition to this device, BlackBerry is also expected to bring to the market a series of mid-range smartphones, such as the BlackBerry Ontario that leaked online not long ago.
