Bitdefender has quietly updated their Android security solution with performance improvements, bug fixes and new features.

Bitdefender Mobile Security & Antivirus is available for free, but the premium version can be purchased for $9.99 USD. However, for a limited time, the application is on sale for just $4.99 USD.

The free version of the application offers Application Audit and Malware scanner, while the paid iteration introduces new features like Anti-theft and Web Security.

The latest update adds detection for spam websites, as well as minor bug fixes and performance tweaks. In addition, devs also included a quick fix for a bug that prevented SD card scanning on Android 2.1 and 2.2.

Version 1.1.766 of Bitdefender Mobile Security & Antivirus is now available as a free download via Softpedia and it should be compatible with devices running Android 2.0.1 and up.
