Asus isn't really one of the main smartphone sellers in North America, but the company plans to change that with the release of Zenfone 2.

One of the highlights of the Consumer Electronics Show trade fair, Asus Zenfone 2 was a hit before release because of its really high-end specs and very low price.

Now it looks like Asus has just confirmed the Zenfone 2 will be launched in Canada too. MobileSyrup reports the smartphone will be available for purchase beginning April, but there's no info on price tag.

It's also worth mentioning that it's highly unlikely that the Zenfone 2 will be offered through Canadian carriers, so your best bet if you want to get one would be to pick it up from Amazon or other major retailers.

It's unclear whether or not Asus will launch multiple versions of the Zenfone 2, but the best model includes a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display, a 64-bit Intel quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and 4GB of RAM.

The smartphone has also been confirmed to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with BSI, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G LTE support and 3,000 mAh battery. Stay tuned for more details on Zenfone 2's price and availability in Canada.
