Last week, Rovio teased a new game in the Angry Birds franchise and promised that more details on the upcoming title would be disclosed in a couple of days.

Although the developer has yet to issue an official statement, the folks over at Kotaku have been told that the game teased last week is called Angry Birds Epic.

Unlike any other game released by Rovio, Angry Birds Epic will be a turn-based RPG title aimed at all major mobile platforms. For the time being, the game has been confirmed for Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

The game is said to feature a complex crafting system that will allow player to create potions, weapons and armors with some of the resources found in the game.

The good news is that Rovio has confirmed that an early version of Angry Birds Epic will be launched on the iOS platform later this week, but the bad news is that it will only be available in Australia and Canada.

According to Rovio, the final version of Angry Birds Epic will be released later this year on Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8. We will keep an eye out for official word on Rovio’s upcoming turn-based RPG title, so stay tuned.
