On Friday, Google announced a new service / feature for Android users out there, meant to provide them with the possibility to easily locate lost or stolen phones or tablets, namely the Android Device Manager.

It now appears that some users are already seeing it on their hardware.

According to a recent article on Android Police, the new Android Device Manager is landing on smartphones and slates out there by way of Google Play Services version 3.2.25, but it appears that it is not fully working just now.

At the moment, it brings a checkbox in the Device Administrators menu, it seems, but no real functionality can be seen in it.

Users interested in taking it for a spin can now download the new Play Services for that. However, they should keep in mind that there are different .apk files available for download for users, compatible with specific screen sizes.
