Android users who purposely purchase Google Play Edition smartphones in order to be among the first to receive major OS updates are probably annoyed at the fact that Google is still lagging behind with the delivery of the Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade.
This article refers to HTC One M7 and One M8 Google Play Editions owners who were promised the Android 5.0 Lollipop update since last week.
However, the update was delayed due to some issue that doesn't seem to come from HTC's part. The good news is HTC has already submitted a new version of the update soon after it was informed by Google that the current build does not qualify for release.
According to HTC's Product VP Mo Versi, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update that was submitted last week by his company might receive Google technical approval by the end of this day.
So, if this really happens, then HTC One M7 and One M8 Google Play Editions owners should expect to start receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update by the end of the week.
In other news, HTC also promised to bring the standard version of One M7 and One M8 to Android 5.0 Lollipop within 3 months since they receive the original build from Google. This means that by the end of January, both high-end smartphones should get the highly anticipated update.
@Seba_bmx Sebastian, the SW for M7 & M8 with the fixes are in Google's QA lab. Their target is to provide TA by end of day Monday.
