HTC One, the latest flagship smartphone from Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation, is set to receive an update to Android 4.4 KitKat in the coming months, though it appears that users in the UK might have to wait a bit longer for it to arrive.

HTC UK took it to Twitter to announce that the OS upgrade would be available to HTC One users in the country only next year, starting with the end of January.

“We're working with our local carriers to begin the rollout of Android 4.4 and Sense 5.5 for the #HTCOne from end of January 2014,” the handset vendor tweeted.

Unfortunately, the company did not specify whether the unlocked flavor of the device would receive the new software release sooner than that. We should also note that some HTC One users out there still haven't received the Android 4.3 update as of now.
