Motorola and HTC were among the first handset makers to announce plans to offer the latest Android 4.4 KitKat update for some of their products.

Moto X is in the first wave of smartphones to receive the upgrade, though not all carriers have managed to bring the update to their customers.

US Cellular is the last on the list of network operators that rolled out the Android 4.4 KitKat for Motorola Moto X and Sprint is also rumored to soak test the software update soon.

However, it appears that Republic Wireless customers who purchase the Moto X will not benefit from the update’s advantages until next year.

According to the company’s official Twitter account, Android 4.4 KitKat for Motorola Moto X is expected to arrive in early 2014.

The good news is that Republic Wireless has confirmed that it will continue to update the Moto X when Motorola makes it available. Stay tuned for more on this one.
