Good news for Motorola fans in the United States, as the handset maker silently confirmed several DROID series smartphones will receive the highly anticipated Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade soon.

Although the US-based company did not disclose any details on its KitKat update schedule, we suspect these devices will receive their upgrades beginning next year.

The following Motorola smartphones have been confirmed to get the Android 4.4 KitKat at some point: DROID RAZR HD (including Developer Edition), DROID RAZR MAXX HAD, RAZR M (including Developer Edition), DROID Mini and DROID Ultra.

Motorola is the first Android OEM to offer the KitKat update to its fans, as the company has just kicked off the rollout of the said upgrade for Verizon Moto X.

More details on these updates will probably emerge in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
