Over the past few weeks, mobile phone maker Motorola has been rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system to owners of its Moto X handsets at carriers in the United States, and it appears that unlocked devices are also receiving the upgrade now.

According to a recent article on Android Central, some US owners of the unlocked Moto X have started to see the new platform version emerging on their smartphones, suggesting that Motorola is about to kick off the general deployment of the update.

There is little difference between the Android 4.4 and Android 4.4.2 platform versions, yet users will still have a series of enhancements to enjoy, along with some fixes for various bugs.

Motorola has yet to officially confirm the availability of the update, so stay tuned for additional details on the matter.
