Verizon Moto X owners rejoice, as the highly anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update has finally been released by the US-based carrier.

Last week Motorola sent invitations for a KitKat soak test for Moto X, but only a handful of users received the build for obvious reasons. The soak test begun at the end of last week and it looks like now it’s over, Droid-Life reports.

Motorola Moto X owners who purchased their devices through Verizon should check their devices for the update. Keep in mind though that this is a staged rollout, so the update may not appear on all Moto X devices at the same time.

Aside from the usual new features and improvements included in the Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the update also brings some other changes that have been detailed by Verizon in a short changelog.

Moto X owners should expect improved phone dialer application performance and better synchronization of email attachments. In addition, Verizon confirms the update also improves connectivity when roaming and enhances on-device security.

Some battery life improvements and Isis Mobile Wallet enhancements have been included as well. Last but not least, the update also contains some Verizon-related content such as VZ Tone and VZ Navigator.
