Good news for Samsung Galaxy S4 owners in Romania, as the South Korean company has just started to push the highly anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

We have just received the update and have noticed that it’s available both OTA (over the air) and through Samsung Kies desktop software, assuming you have the latest version installed on your PC.

Samsung kicked off the rollout of Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Galaxy S4 in Europe a few weeks ago, but Romanians have been skipped from the initial deployment.

Still, it’s good that the update is now available for download, so Galaxy S4 owners can check for availability via Kies 3.0 or by heading to Settings / More / About phone / Software update.

The update has around 355MB in size and brings mostly under the hood changes that should improve the overall performance of the Galaxy S4.

The most obvious change is the addition of the Camera icon on the right corner of the lockscreen. The new launcher setting menu has been included as well. Last but not least, the Music Album art is now displayed on the lock screen while playing music.

Keep in mind that after updating to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, you will not be able to downgrade to a previous version of the operating system.
