Samsung kicked off the roll out of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Galaxy Note 3 less than a week ago, but the upgrade was only available in Russia.

Obviously, we’re talking about Samsung Galaxy Note 3 model SM-N900, which comes with Exynos octa-core chipset. The South Korean company is also rolling out the same KitKat update for the Qualcomm-based model (SM-N9005) since mid-January.

Starting today, Indian owners of the Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900) can upgrade to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. User Lalith Bhaskar has just tweeted a screenshot showing his Galaxy Note 3 device has just received the long-awaited update.

We suspect this is a staged rollout, so not all Galaxy Note 3 owners in India will receive it at the same time, but it’s worth checking. Head over to Settings / More / About device / Software update / Update and follow the prompts on the screen if the update is available.
