LG has recently come forward with an official statement in which the company claims that it will not commit to any Android 4.4 KitKat updates except for its top-tier devices.

Basically, those who own LG devices should expect the worst from the South Korean company when it comes to updates, unless they have a G2 or G Flex smartphone.

These two models are among the few that have been guaranteed to receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, though no exact release dates have been offered yet.

The good news is that at least one of the two high-end LG smartphones have already started to receive the long-awaited upgrade, the G2.

We reported earlier this week that AT&T had kicked off the rollout of the update for LG G2, which is deployed OTA (over the air).

Well, it looks like the next US-based carrier to get the update will be T-Mobile. In fact, Android 4.4.2 KitKat is already available for T-Mobile LG G2 devices, but not as an OTA (over the air) update.

According to AndroidPolice, T-Mobile customers who own the LG G2 can manually download the Android 4.4.2 KitKat ROM for their devices via XDA Forums. The file has no less than 1.5GB and can be installed via LG Mobile Support Tool.
