Last week, Australian wireless carrier Vodafone announced that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for its Galaxy Nexus was still missing in action, and today it has provided a reason for that.

Apparently, Samsung was getting ready for the new Android 4.1.2 update for the smartphone, and had decided to skip the release of Android 4.1.1 for this device.

“Samsung have now confirmed to us that the build that is currently under preparation is based on the Android 4.1.2 codebase,” the carrier notes in a recent blog post.

For the time being, no specific info on when the update will be received for testing purposes has been provided, nor on when it might arrive on devices.

The good news, however, is that progress is being made, and that users will be receiving the latest Android OS flavor that Google has made available for their smartphones.
