We reported a few days ago that Motorola planned to begin an Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean soak test for Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi units in the US.

However, it appears that the test was successfully completed in less than a day, so Google has now started the rollout of the update to all Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi tablets in the US.

According to Phandroid, the update is currently rolled out OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might not be available to all users at once.

Besides bringing the software to version 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, the update adds lots of new features, improvements and enhancements. The overall performance and stability of the tablet have been improved as well.

On a side note, Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi is the first 10-inch tablet that receives an upgrade to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. Keep in mind that the update is only available in the US.
