More rumors on the upcoming Amazon smartphone have just surfaced in China. We reported back in July that Amazon planned to enter the smartphone market with its own device, though we did not have any details regarding its release.

Taiwan Economic News reports that several component manufacturers involved in the supply of Amazon’s upcoming smartphone claim the company will launch its own branded handset between Q2 and Q3 2013.

According to the cited sources, the smartphone is being built by Foxconn, makers of iPhone and iPad. It appears that Foxconn will ship around 5 million Amazon Phone units next year.

The smartphone is said to be priced at around $100-$200 (€75- €150) outright, though this information is subject to change.

For the time being, the phone’s specs sheet is still a mystery, but we expect more details to emerge in the following weeks, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
