Following the success of its entry-level Android tablets in India, Zync announced plans to expand its business in the low-cost smartphone market as well.

The Cloud Z401 is one of the cheapest smartphones launched by Zync and is now available for purchase via major retailers across the country for only Rs 4,499 outright, which is about $70 or €50.

According to fonearena, the smartphone ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system out of the box, which seems to be the Cloud Z401's major downside.

Hardware-wise, the device comes equipped with a 1 GHz single-core processor, 256MB of RAM and 512MB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

No word on dual-SIM capability, but Zync has confirmed that its affordable smartphone sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, as well as dual cameras (2-megapixel rear camera and VGA secondary camera).
